Aamir Khan: New Definition of Acting

He represents the new thoughts and ideas in his movies whether it is 3 Idiots or Rang De Basanti. This is no matter that how other stars think about them. He does one or two movies in a year and that does with complete perfection. His name Mr. Perfectionist shows his dedication and working nature. He is an icon of youths and teenagers.

Aamir Khan was born on March 14, 1965 in Bandra, Mumbai in a conservative Muslim family. He got his talent in his blood. His father Tahir Hussain was a film producer, while his uncle Nasir Hussain was a director, actor as well as a film producer. He did his schooling at St. Annes School, Bandra and Bombay Scottish School. He completed his junior college education from Narsee Monjee College, Mumbai.

He worked as a child artist in Yaadon Ki Baaraat (1973), which was produced and directed by his uncle Nasir Husain. Later, he started his acting career in 1984 with Holi but he had to wait for commercial success till 1988. In 1988, he tasted the success with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak which had been directed by his cousin Mansoor Khan. Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak made him a Bollywood star and he worked in several commercial hit movies with leading producers and directors. He has been nominated for Filmfare Awards for fourteen times and is a winner of three Filmfare awards. He got his first Filmfare award For Raja Hindustani in 2001. In this film he shared screen with Karishma Kapoor. In 2000, he announced his own production house Aamir Khan Productions and launched his company’s first film Lagaan in 2001. Lagaan was the most earned movie of 2001 and got several prestigious awards as well as nomination in Oscar Award for Best Foreign Language Film.

After Lagaan he produced some more commercial hit movies in his home production such as Taare Zameen Par, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, Gajini and Peepli Live. He has also directed Taare Zemeen Par and won Filmfare Award for Best Director in 2006. He had voiced for playback singing in his own film Ghulam and this song became very famous that time. In addition, he had written screenplay for Hum Hain Rahi Pyar Ke in 1993. But he is not limited to these particulars areas. He is beyond the limits and has become a multitalented personality who can do acting, writing, production, direction, playback singing and much more. Besides this, he has been honored with the highest civilian awards of Government of India Padma Shri (in 2003) and Padma Bhushan (in 2010) for his contributions in Hindi cinema.
